Biographical Info

Jody grew up in the heart of Harrison and Tuscarawas counties in East Central Ohio, and has lived here all of his life. He was raised a farm boy and married his high school sweetheart, a farm girl. They have been married for more than 30 years. Jody has a passion for the outdoors and seeing others succeed in their hunting and fishing endeavors. His careers have taken many avenues: a machinist, a professional auto/equipment painter, an assembler, an equipment operator, a tournament fisherman, a mink farmer, a taxidermist, a furniture maker, a house-flipper, a charter Captain on Lake Erie, a whitetail and turkey guide in Ohio, and a real estate agent. As a pre-teen, he earned money mowing cemeteries for the township, so he would have money to support his hunting passion. Walk into his home office and you will see his more than 400 sheds that he has gathered up over the years. Glancing to the walls, you will spy elk, a giant Cinnamon Bear, turkey, several trophy bucks, and small-mouth. Jody never quits. Jody worked at the Gradall Company for 17 years before leaving to start Reel’m-N Charters, his walleye charter fishing business on Lake Erie. Later that same year, he and his wife started Buck’Eye Outfitters of Ohio, a hunting camp located in southern Tuscarawas County. After ten years of spending his summers on the waters of Lake Erie’s western basin, Jody sold his charter boat so he could concentrate on things closer to home. His dad’s ailing health prompted him to spend more time where he was needed most. Jody and his wife continue to operate the hunting business, concentrating on fair-chase whitetail and turkey. Jody started hunting and fishing at an early age and has never stopped. He began trapping fox and coyote as a teenager, and his passion for the woods and water continue to this day. He has hunted deer and bear in Canada and several states; elk in Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming; and grouse in Michigan and Maine. His love of fishing takes him many places as well: Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, Canada, Pennsylvania, New York, and of course, Ohio. Hardly a week goes by that Jody isn’t either on an outdoor adventure or planning his next one. Jody’s love of the outdoors and understanding of what makes a piece of real estate a good hunting lease is built on years of hard-earned experience. He personally manages thousands of acres for his hunting business and can provide the insights necessary for you to be successful in your pursuit of that big buck or trophy turkey. He understands where to place deer stands, blinds, and bait to be successful. He also recognizes the key ingredients to a successful food plot, from how to plant it to where to put it, and how to maintain it. Put his experience and instincts to work for you. Give Jody a call today if you have ground to lease or are interested in finding a piece of ground for next hunting season.
